What Is This About?

I don’t like most parenting sites. I hate all American ones. They have pastel colours and crap animation. Mumsnet is useful, but there are too many adverts, too many medical problems, and too many hotkeys buzzing in your face like toddlers demanding attention. When I’m on Mumsnet, I feel I’m in a neon-lit coffee morning, surrounded by tired mums eating biscuits. I’m irked by most things connected to Supernanny. I distrust her pert glasses and tight white nurse’s outfit. I don’t need parenting experts to look like porn stars. My only fantasy about Supernanny is the one where I push her into a big muddy puddle. Above all I resent how her show implies that children present an endless series of problems, which must be corrected. Every time I watch it, I see a child in green infra-red lighting, endlessly stumbling for Mummy’s bed, like a zombie rising from the grave. My real problem is that all this doesn’t make you eager to hang out with your offspring. So that’s what this website is about. It’s for mums. It’s for dads. It’s for anyone who wants to enjoy their children, and have a laugh. Get yourself a drink, get comfortable, and get in.
