On May 29th Penguin are publishing Dad Rules, a book based on the Sunday Times column. Don’t get me wrong, I like the columns, but the book is way better. It has cartoons and unseen stories and naughty material which the paper cuts out. Columns are snapshot things, but the book is a proper page-turning read, which tells a complete narrative. It’s a story, composed of smaller stories, and in each one, I learn another Dad Rule: I discover something else about how to be happy. Buy it if you like the columns and fancy a laugh. Buy it for your friends who’ve had children. Buy it for your man, as a Father’s Day Present. Or don’t. Either way, you can read a few chapters for free. They are:
